Line 6 POD HD500: Most Powerful POD Ever Caught On Video (Part 1)

It’s been a while since the POD Live X3 came out. High-time Line 6 introduced a net flagship POD, wouldn’t you say? Turns out Line 6 would agree. The New Line 6 POD HD series is wholly upgraded POD featuring — in addition to its new, rugged, metal chassis — 16 “high-definition“ amp models that sound closer to the real things than any Line 6 six model to come before. Friend of Gearwire and Line 6 axe-man Dave Lenat brought a POD HD500 to show off to us, and in this Part 1 of a 2-part demo he plays a few of the new, upgraded amp models. Particularly impressive are the models of the Park amp (listen to how it responds to a rolled-off volume knob) and the beefy clean of the Twin Reverb emulation. In part 2 we’ll take an in-depth look at the looper functions and some of the weirder presets included on the POD HD.
