EXPLOITED 1983-87 15 punks not dead Edinburgh early 1980 and Ex squaddie, Wattie Buchan teams up with Big John Duncan, Dru Stix and Gary Mc Cormack to create a monster. These four disillusioned, angry young men decide to make their feelings known in a big way; enter The Exploited, a band whose notoriety is only matched by the Sex Pistols. For the next 25 years The Exploited blaze a trail of punk rock mayhem across the world. To say singer Wattie doesn’t mince his words is an understatement, his tell-it-like-it-is attitude is responsible for more than it’s fare share of confrontation and controversy. Yet the band goes from strength to strength eventually becoming one of the most influential names of second wave punk. From sell out gigs at London’s prestigious Lyceum to that infamous appearance on Top of The Pops, The Exploited never sold anyone short. They were, and still are, always full-on aggressive.
