Cojocaru began working in 1991 for the Canadian fashion magazine Flare. “As far as I was concerned, I had landed the biggest job in showbiz. Barely out of university, I was hired as a talent booker for a local telethon and my mission was to book an American star to headline the night. Everybody watched the telethon channel, Montreal’s CFCF-12. This was a big deal. We had to land somebody with a name, a profile, who wasn’t above renting their fame to a random cause for twenty-four hours.
