NTU scientists develop tear-based batteries for smart contact lenses
One of the challenges of charging batteries in small #wearabledevices is the difficulty of transferring electricity through a wired connection or a wireless transmission unit.
Scientists from #NTUsg have developed safe, cornea-thin batteries that can be used in contact lenses and are charged by saline when stored. These batteries could be used to develop smart contact lenses for #medical purposes like keeping track of #health data and helping to flag diseases.
