CP north of Red Deer AB May 2016

From the Red Deer yards the CP track climbs out of the Red Deer valley to a passing loop at Labuma and then descends into the Blindman River valley. After crossing this placid river it climbs to Blackfalds where there is an ethylene glycol loading facility connected by pipeline to the Dow/MEGlobal chemical plant at Prentiss. From Blackfalds the track crosses under highway 2A and follows the local geography to Lacombe where there are passing loops and a storage siding as well as a preserved station. For more
