Russian Empire, after 1813 The old Russian march that belonged to the Life-Guards Grenadier Regiment. The exact time of its creation is unknown, but the regiment itself received such a name in 1813, in connection with which we can confidently say that the song arose later. The author of the lyrics of the march glorifies the stamina, dedication and courage of the Life-Grenadiers, and also pays tribute to the empresses who founded the regiment - Elizabeth I and Catherine II. The lyrics also mentions an aiguilette - a special insignia granted to the Life-Guards Grenadier Regiment back in 1775 and preserved until the very revolution. Performed by the “Valaam“ choir.
