Is the U.S. Backing the Hostage-takers, and if so, why? At the U.S. Embassy where I went on April 13th to request help in finding a resolution to this ongoing Hostage-taking, not only did I not receive any help, I was not even given an opportunity to speak with an Embassy representative there in order to be able to convey my request to them in person. In fact, before I could talk to the reception two Policemen were already there, creating a stressful environment, intimidating me and interfering with the process. They later took my banner, attempted to prevent me from handing out leaflets to the public and at the end took me to the district Police station where I was subject to their unjustifiable humiliation and 4 hours of illegal detention before I was finally let go.
