1990 SPECIAL REPORT: “ GENERATION AT RISK“

This program uses interviews with two psychologists, Dr. Jeanne Taylor and Dr. Eugene Givens, and residents of Boston’s black neighborhoods in an attempt to find solutions to the problem of young black males being the victims of, or the perpetrators of violent and drug-related crimes in these neighborhoods. The program includes a discussion of some of the contributing factors of the problem, including high unemployment, poverty, easy money from drug dealing, gangs, racism, and the lack of influence of father figures and positive, successful black role models. Included is an excerpt from a speech by Rev. Bruce Wall.
