Emma Shapplin - Favola Breve

Born Crystêle Madeleine Joliton in the Paris suburb of Savigny-le-Temple, Emma Shapplin embarked on a career in rock music, but was persuaded by French singer-songwriter Jean-Patrick Capdevielle to return to classical studies to improve her singing technique. She still felt there was something lacking, so fashioned a blend of opera, modern trance and pop. Capdevielle was suitably impressed to work with her on her début album, ’Carmin Meo’, on which he had a hand in writing all the material. Included on that album was “Favola Breve“, on which Emma’s soaring voice and superb orchestral accompaniment does justice to the heart-stopping melody. Not the most prolific of recording artists, Emma Shapplin nevertheless keeps her many fans happy with quality performances like this track.
