LIVE: Atlas V to launch AFSPC-5 mission for the U.S. Air Force

A United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket will launch the AFSPC 5 mission in support of the national defence from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida on May 20. The LightSail spacecraft will blast off atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket to test out critical systems and technologies ahead of a more involved solar sailing trial in 2016. The payloads will also include the military’s X-37B space plane, the UltraSat and package of small CubeSat secondary payloads. Video on Demand:
