How to make melodies like Monte Booker / Flume

In this video I take time to tackle one of my most sought after questions... how do I make melodies like Monte Booker or Flume? The answer, Granular Synthesis. Sound design has always been a process of music creation that I have wanted to get better at. While I feel like I have gotten better with my arrangements and mixes of tracks, I still could always get better at sound design. Flume was one of the biggest inspirations to me as a kid. Seeing artists like him, Diplo, Dillon Francis etc. at festivals here in Florida and play sounds I’ve never heard before, all from a laptop and a program called Ableton blew my mind away. I still remember my first year at college for music and walking the halls listening to Smino’s project BLKSWN, produced by Monte. Easily one of my favorite projects of all time and was so impactful to the types of sounds I like now. The inspiration from this video came from watching Kenny Beats livestream with Monte Booker.
