How to make the Red Cabbage pH Indicator!

Red cabbage is named after the colour of its... purple leaves... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ this colour is due to a chemical known as anthocyanin. But did you know that this chemical changes colour when added to acids and bases?! What?! Yeah! In this video I’ll show you how to get the anthocyanin out of the cabbage and make it turn red, pink, purple, blue, green and even yellow! A few things in this video need safety gear and an adult’s help, so keep your eye out for a new character in the Silly Science with Simon family... Sensible Simon! Have fun watching and let me know how you go if you try this at home :) **Official Merchandise!** You can now buy a Silly Science with Simon shirt, hoodie or sticker on this RedBubble store!
