James Brooks Abstract Expressionism-New York School 1950s action painting
James Brooks was born in 1906 in St. Louis MO. He was part of the New York School that brought American art to the highest level of international recognition. In 1955 he was included in the exhibition of the Whitney Museum of American Art: “The New Decade, 35 American Painters and Sculptors,“ and in 1956 in the exhibition of The Museum of Modern Art: “Twelve Americans.“
