Su guitarra ha sido galardonada en el Festival de Las Minas de la Unión y se ha labrado una sólida trayectoria tanto de concertista como en las más reconocidas compañías de baile. También ha sido galardonado con el primer premio del prestigioso concurso de guitarra Niño Ricardo, en Murcia, y el primer premio de la Tertulia Flamenca de Hospitalet, Barcelona. — José Andrés Cortés, gypsy guitarist, was born in Barcelona on August 6, 1981. His guitar has been awarded in the Festival de Las Minas de la Unión and has carved out a solid career both as a concert performer and in the most renowned dance companies. He has also been awarded first prize at the prestigious Niño Ricardo guitar competition in Murcia, and first prize at the Tertulia Flamenca de Hospitalet, Barcelona. ► ABOUT THE GUITAR | SOBRE LA GUITARRA Guitarra del año 1993 del luthier Juan Montero Aguilera, nacido en 1933 Sevilla, se trasladó y estableció en Córdoba en 1951. Es reconocido como uno de los destacados artesanos de guitarras en Córdoba, coincidiendo en su período con el renombrado Miguel Rodríguez y junto al gran maestro Manuel Reyes. Los aros y el fondo son de ciprés y la tapa de pino abeto. — Guitar luthier Juan Montero Aguilera (1993), born in 1933 Seville, moved and settled in Cordoba in 1951. He is recognized as one of the outstanding guitar craftsmen in Cordoba, coinciding in his period with the renowned Míguel Rodriguez and with the great master Manuel Reyes. The sides and back are made of cypress and the top of spruce pine. ► ABOUT THE MUSIC | SOBRE LA MÚSICA Este cante es un paso intermedio entre la Soleá y la Bulería. Responde al mismo compás de ambas y su velocidad también está a medio camino entre estos dos palos, siendo similar al que adoptan las cantiñas. — This cante is an intermediate step between the Soleá and the Bulería. It follows the same meter of both and its speed is also halfway between these two styles, being similar to that adopted by the cantiñas.
