J.S. BACH - Air on the G string BWV 1068 (fragment) / Aria para la cuerda de sol (fragmento)

🔵“Air on the G String“, also known as “Air for G String“ and “Celebrated Air“, is August Wilhelmj’s 1871 arrangement of the second movement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068. The arrangement differs from the original in that the part of the first violins is transposed down so that the entire piece can be played on just the violin’s lowest string (the G string, hence the name). In performance, that part is generally played by a single violin (instead of by the first violins as a group). 🔴“Aria para a cuerda de Sol“, también conocido como “Air for G String“ y “Aria Celebrada“, es el arreglo de August Wilhelmj de 1871 del segundo movimiento de la Suite orquestal n.º 3 en re mayor de Johann Sebastian Bach, BWV 1068. El arreglo se diferencia del original en que la parte de los primeros violines se transpone hacia abajo para que toda la pieza pueda tocarse sólo en la cuerda más baja del violín (la cuerda Sol, de ahí el nombre). En la interpretación, esa parte generalmente la toca un solo violín (en lugar de los primeros violines como grupo).
