Deep River Blues

Deep River Blues was a “must learn“ for finger-pickers in the 1960’s. Recorded by the Delmore Brothers in 1933, Doc Watson wowed audiences with his version, first released on his debut Vanguard album in 1964. Marc Silber showed me Doc’s chord positions in 1970 when we were both living in Berkeley, CA. Performed at Ellen Schmidt’s Virtual Open Mic (Boxborough, MA) hosted by Dan Tappan, on May 17 2021.
