Morning Stories: Vanessa Tait (20/08/2015)

Morning Stories: The Self Is An Illusion Vanessa Tait is a descendant of the girl who inspired Alice In Wonderland. She says its heroine was right to question who she was. Vanessa Tait is great-granddaughter of Alice Liddell, the daughter of the Dean of Christ Church, Oxford, and the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland. In the book, Alice is asked the question “Who are you?“ by the Caterpillar, but struggles to answer. In today’s Morning Story, Ms Tait, a writer herself, says Alice’s confusion is justified and explains why it is important to remember that there is no such thing as ’the self’.
