Despite lacking a formal scientific degree, Irwin became a world-renowned wildlife expert and entertainer, best known for his TV series The Crocodile Hunter and other nature programs. His upbringing on the wildlife park provided him with a strong foundation in animal care and handling, which he honed under the guidance of his father, who taught him how to catch and manage crocodiles. Sadly, on September 4, 2006, During a diving expedition off the coast of Port Douglas in Queensland, Australia, Steve Irwin was filming a documentary titled “Ocean’s Deadliest“ when he was fatally struck in the chest by a stingray.
