In the Studio: Antony Gormley ’Body Politic’ | White Cube

For over four decades, renowned British sculptor Antony Gormley has investigated the relationship of the human body to space. Following Gormley as he prepares for a major upcoming solo exhibition, ‘Antony Gormley: Body Politic’ spans the artist’s extensive body of work and his most recent attempts to materialise our present situation through sculpture, investigating humanity’s dependency on its industrially made habitat. Created in collaboration with documentary filmmaker John O’Rourke, the film offers an unprecedented glimpse into Gormley’s artistic practice and his relationship with processes and materials. Over the course of several months, O’Rourke gained exclusive access to the artist’s fabrication sites across the UK, including his studio in London and foundry in Hexham. The film will be screened at Antony Gormley’s exhibition, ‘Body Politic’, on view from 22 November 2023 to 28 January 2024 at White Cube Bermondsey, London. Find out more at
