Making A Leather Wallet - Artisan Handwork In Detail

I started this video intending it to be around 4-5 minutes long. Well, that didn’t happen. This covers me making a custom commissioned and personalized leather wallet from start to finish. I tried to keep the focus on the tools and how they’re used to achieve certain things, and less on the manner in which the wallet actually goes together. That said, follow along and it should be pretty self evident how they work. I made this wallet from Bordeaux and Whiskey Buttero, Italian vegetable tanned leather. It is hand stitched, as you’ll see, with Vinymo #8 MBT polyester thread. Edges are burnished with a mix of water and a Japanese burnishing agent called Tokonole.
