Around July of 2020, Karamoja state faced an upsurge of cattle raiding. This warranted the deployment of UPDF mercenaries from Kampala into the region. However we still await arrests and progresss reports in the matter which has presented nothing new but the continued UPDF deployment in the region and extended instability.
