Last time we heard from the Melbourne-based Matt Doyle was the early September release ’Lonely Robot’, a 121bpm production that made for an impressive debut offering from an artist that has already secured releases with Proton, Particles, Balkan Connection, and Mistique. ’Energon’ launches with a supple shaker/kick combo that carefully blossoms in to an emotive production lead by sky-bound synths and an inviting atmosphere. This massive production clocks in just under an astounding 10 minutes long and sees Matter use every inch of its sonic fabric to employ a wide range of effects and emotions.
