Pirate’s Treasure (1949)

Pirate’s treasure. Eastbourne, East Sussex. M/S of two young boys David and John Hume sat with Mrs Elizabeth Dick. She shows them a solid gold watch, part of the treasure of Captain Kidd which she inherited from Hubert Palmer. C/U mechanisms of the watch. She then hands them some pieces of eight. C/U’s of a split coin used for carrying secret messages. M/S as they open the original treasure chest and examine the pistols inside, one has notches to show how many kills have been made. Elizabeth turns it around to show the name ’Calico Jack’. She demonstrates how all the levers work on the chest. C/U as they open another treasure chest, and take out a model of a skull attached to a bible. M/S of secret drawer which contains a real treasure map.
