Cliff Rescue (1949)

Demonstration of a cliff rescue. Beachy Head, Sussex. Various shots of the cliffs at Beachy Head, people are gathered at the top. M/S of Sergeant Humphrey in harness, he is going to test out the new rescue equipment. Various shots as he abseils down the cliff whilst those at the top let down the rope on the winch. C/U of Humphrey’s feet. Various shots as he makes his way slowly down to the casualty. He uses a walkie-talkie to communicate with people at the top of the cliff. He puts the injured man on a stretcher and is winched upwards, he walks up the cliff with the stretcher in front of him. M/S as he reaches the top.
