A second day of flooding hit Seoul and Gyeonggi Province in South Korea today on August 9th 2022. Among the worst affected areas was the wealthy Gangnam district. The rain is the worst recorded in South Korea for 80 years. Drains overflowed as sewage systems filled with water. Cars were washed away as streets turned into rivers, blocking traffic. Floods filled basements and subways with water, forcing evacuations. Markets and businesses were damaged, with produce ruined. Further rain is expected on Wednesday August 10th, causing further damage.
