Russian troops will receive the first batch of the long-awaited next-generation S-500 air defence missile system in 2024. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that the air defence system will be delivered in two variations. One variant will be a long-range air defense missile system and the other an anti-missile defense complex. Russia will also be adding more S-400 and S-300V4 air defense missile systems, Buk-M3 and Tor-M2U missile systems to its arsenal.
