Can you wear stockings with pantyhose?

I’ve had these stockings for a LONG time, I think I originally bought them for Christmas themed outfit, but I cannot remember now. Anyways, I thought these would be the perfect thing to layer with a lovely pair of pantyhose. What do you guys think about this look? Can stockings really go with pantyhose?
