During the Indonesian War of Independence (1945 – 1949) / Politionele Acties the Dutch did commit war crimes against the Indonesians where the tried to keep Indonesia as a colony of the Netherlands: the Dutch East Indies (Nederlands-Indië), sometimes known as “De oost“ (The East). In this video I present an overview of the biggest crimes. The most infamous was the South Celebes Affair (Zuid-Celebes-Affaire) where Dutch commandos led by captain Raymond Westerling shot and killed many people of the region.
