Ruse: Rock Monastery of Basarbovo / Русе: Басарбовски скален манастир

The Basarbovo Rock Monastery is some of the most interesting landmarks near the Danube river in Bulgaria and the Dunav Ultra Cycle Route. It is the only monastery of its kind in the country. The cloister is literally dug into the rocks of the Rusenski Lom canyon rocks. The monastery bears the name of Dimitar Basarbovski – a real person lived at the area few centuries ago.
