US releases video of a Russian fighter jet ‘harassing’ American aircraft over Syria

The US Air Force said Russian fighter jets flew dangerously close to several American drone aircraft over Syria on Wednesday (Jul 5), setting off flares and forcing the MQ-9 Reapers to take evasive manoeuvres. The US authority, which released annotated footage of the encounter, said the move represented “a new level of unprofessional and unsafe action by Russian air forces”.
