After Sweden’s exit (1523), eventually these two kingdoms grew inseparable. I explore that so-called ’400 year night’ , an interval in Norwegian history that is often ignored or disregarded as irrelevant in our view of history, whilst its towns, institutions, industries and foundations are still found amongst us.
