Echoes at Teatro Greco Siracusa - Homage to Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii The short film “Echoes at Teatro Greco Siracusa”, directed by Giuseppe Saglimbene, is a sincere homage of the band Pink’s One on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the legendary Pink Floyd’s Live at Pompeii (1971). In order to give value and emphasize one of the most beautiful places in the world (Neapolis Archaeological Area of Siracusa), genuine pride of Sicily, the band has been protagonist of a singular live performance of the famous suite Echoes, originally included within Pink Floyd’s Meddle (1971). The song is moved up by the delicate voice of Echo, one of the Mountain Nymphs of the Greek Mythology: among the ruins of the Greek Theatre, the Ear of Dionysius and all the Archaeological Area, nowadays she is the perfect link between an important and thousand-year old history of culture and classical tradition and the dreamy lyrics of Roger Waters in a fanciful “passing of the baton”.
