Osmanspare “ This LP comes from that period in British rock history where the transition from the whimsical Beatles influenced psychedelic sound to a more heavy blues based riff rock was beginning to occur. This is very evident on this LP where we find the band trying to please too many record buying camps. Thus, you end up with a bit of a schizo bit of freakbeat here, a blues track there, a riff rocker, etc... Kinda the reason you have reviewers of this record liking some songs and hating others, and usually different sets of songs. Personally being a bit of a schizo collector myself, I like it a lot and think they handle all the various styles pretty well. The heavier tracks have that muscular Britrock sound you really only found in the period 69-72-ish. The heavier tracks remind me a tad of those found on Andromeda’s self titled LP and that is no small compliment. Recent reissues make this one pretty easy to find in some form.“
