How to Build a Composite Longboard Skateboard Using Resin Infusion

In this video we build a composite longboard skateboard using resin infusion. Resin infusion is a process where the materials are loaded into the mold dry, then placed under vacuum. While under vacuum resin is piped in using the pressure difference between the mold and the atmosphere. The benefits to resin infusion are: - It is a cleaner process than wet layup and can be done in areas that composite work would not normally be done in. - It is highly repeatable resulting in consistent parts and consistent costs. -Up until the point that you introduce resin you can stop the project and come back to it later. This allows for double checking your work and fixing things as well as flexibility in scheduling. We do sell molds and kits for this board that typically go to high school tech education departments or colleges with composite courses. Contact us for more information about those. Materials used in this video: Divinycell H-80 core
