Eugene de Blaas was an Italian painter in the school known as Academic Classicism. His father, who was a painter too, immigrated to Italy from Austria. The family lived in Venice, and Eugene often painted scenes on its streets as well as the Venetian society. In this video you can see what different classes of society were waring at the end of the 19-th century. Venetian aristocrats, dressed in gala satins and shining jewelry and common people whose dresses were simpler all are shown in this video.
