Formless Arts Talks, 10 June The core subject of the talk will be around the shadow, a theme that Marek has been delving for decades through his vast Butoh background. It feels an appropriated time to pull out such a subject as the world is going through a dark moment of deep fears and uncertainties, whilst individual and collectively shadows have been exposed unprecedentedly. Marek Jason Isleib (Berlin, 1968): After a professional career in classical dance, modern and improvisation in Germany and the Netherlands, he became passionate and immersed himself from the year 2000 on in Butoh, studying and performing with several Japanese masters. In particular, he has worked and continues to study regularly with Hisako Horikawa. Since 2008 he has been developing, performing and also teaching his own personal direction in the field of Butoh: iNNER MOVES (“The Butoh Way”) .
