Puget Sound Scuba 1950’s Silent

This is a collection of my family 8mm films of diving and water skiing in Puget Sound, Lake Washington and Lake Sammamish in the 1950’s and early 60’s. My father Clark Wheaton began diving in the late 40’s with a group of buddies including Don Osborne. We made our own wet suits and tanks. The earliest shots here show Clark with his early dry suit and there are shots of his “Peachy Suit“ from which he got his nickname Peachy. This video includes shots of the Tacoma Octopus Wresting Championships which occurred each year in those days.
