Puce Moment by Kenneth Anger in 1949. the overture to “Le Villi - Puccini“ was supposed to be original soundtrack for Puce Moment but Anger apparently “sat on the 12 inch record“ that he was using. He says it “lines up perfectly with the film“ and I think it really does as well.
