Taras Bulba 1936 French classic cossack film complete

This is the rarely seen 1936 French version of Taras Bulba (Tarass Boulba) by Alex Granowsky. This is the first sound version, and apparently, the most faithful version of Taras Bulba to the original novel. Previous silent version were filmed in Imperial Russia about 1910 and then by the UFA Studio in Germany in 1926. This film was partly remade in Great Britain in 1938 using many scenes you see here. The most popular version of Taras Bulba is the 1962 classic followed by the 1963 Italian costume drama and more recent Russian and Ukrainian versions.
