Gershwin will sound for you. The instrument is incredibly complex - you play with electric fields, as if on an invisible string, in the air, without touching anything - and this gives a special feeling and pleasure. The color with which theremin sounds cannot be confused with anything, although it is similar to something between the human voice and a cello string, and in a higher register - a violin.
