MERLIN

❝Arthur is not just a king. He is the once and future king.❞ - So. This project has been in the works for many months (and I don’t mean where I drop it and pick it up later — I mean consistently working on it a little each week). And it was so hard to keep it secret. I constantly wanted to post previews of manips I was super proud of. Instead, I bothered my friends constantly about it. This is something that I don’t think has been done before to this extent, and that’s what’s so hard. Almost every single manip is completely original, which is a feat. There’s a few modern Merlin videos out there (amazing ones, might I add), but no one has really focused on (a) the magic and (b) the reasons that everyone would be coming back. The video begins with Merlin already having found the gang, but they don’t quite remember who they really are. Arthur and Morgana are adopted siblings, and Gwen is Morgana’s friend. Merlin keeps a close eye on them (especially Morgana, hoping she never remembers), and then the truth begins to reveal itself and the prophecy unfolds. As I was editing, I had so many little cameos of all the different characters in modern times, but it became far too busy and hectic, so most of it got removed. But there’s some traces of Morgause, Gaius, and a scene that was supposed to include Gwaine, and the fact that the whole apocalyse thing was caused by some sorcerers we know, it just wasn’t shown. The rest were cast aside. There’s a pretty good chance I’ll return to this universe just for that. Fitting that this took nearly all of 2020 to edit and it is very 2020 apocalyptic themed. This is heavily inspired by a S&B video that Lizzie did. I highly recommend obsessively watching it multiple times a day like I still do: Footage is from Merlin (BBC).
