The Christmas Story in Old English – Luke Ch. 2 in Anglo-Saxon
The Gospel according to St. Luke, Chapter 2, read in Old English (Anglo-Saxon) by Joshua Tyra. This is a late 10th- or early 11th-century translation, traditionally called the Wessex or West Saxon Gospels, in an 11th-century manuscript known as the Bath Old English Gospels (CCCC MS 140). Special thanks to the Master and Fellows of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, for their permission to reproduce images of CCCC MS 140, now housed in the Parker Library.
