Home made X rays generation, firsts attempts after a long time.
I have experimented with X ray generation a long time ago, but with low high voltage setup, and no radiation detection instruments it was quite impossible to have a positive result.
This time, and with a 5 minutes setup, using an old vacuum tube rectifier as a X ray lamp, a color TV set high voltage rectifier (that multiplies the voltage 3 times), an a typical flyback oscillator, I reached the goal of producing real X rays.
You can see in the camera, the white dots produced by the radiation hitting the camera CCD, and on the background sound, the Geiger counter clicking.
The camera was about 20cm from the x-ray tube, and the Geiger counter, about 40cm, and exactly behind the camera.
SInce the high voltage supply it´s not seriously built, it´s output voltage it´s not stable, and the emission, it´s not constant.
An interesting effect you can see in the video, it´s that, when the white dots increase thei
