Normally, a train stays on the track and experiences friction as it moves. But now, think about a train which can levitate over a magnetic track without any friction or bumps. It would go super fast and only be slowed down by air resistance.
The trick is to have superconductors at the bottom of the train. At liquid nitrogen temperature they conduct electric current without any resistance. When they are placed above a magnetic track, the magnetic field excites an electric current in a superconductor which never stops and generates a magnetic force lifting the train. Moreover, the magnetic field holds and guides the train just above the track. Physics is amazing!
