BG3 || Astarion & Cazador || City of The Dead

bgm: City of The Dead - Eurielle [spoiler warning] * * * [there’re spoilers, warning again] * * * The core of this video is about the repeated destiny for the vampire lords and I slightly changed a bit the image of Cazador to match this theme, that he could foresee the possibility and even the fate that Astarion might take his place in the ritual, despite his own great thirst for power. The line “I made you to be consumed“ not only indicate that he would use Astarion for the brutal ritual but also he knew Astarion might be consumed by his fears to his master and the world and resorted to evil power, which would make him a totally different, powerful being, yet in some way, pathetic. Cazador pressured Astarion with his ownership for Astarion and his stress on Astarion’s weakness and powerlessness pushed Astarion to take this no-way-back path. Despite that his true desire might be to be a free person or walk in the sunlight again, Astarion chose to follow and forsake himself into the repeated history of his predecessors. So in the end Cazador was right after all that Astarion was his, after two centuries of torture, in that possible path of fate for Astarion, he still decided the direction his spawn headed.
