Tribute to Linda McCartney: Waiting at Heaven’s Door... A McCartney Rose by Joseph Lee Hooker

NOTE: “The McCartney Rose“ is, in some people’s estimation, the most pungent, sweet smelling rose on the planet. Award-winning for its fragrance, and bursting with glorious tones of fuchsia and neon pink, “The McCartney Rose“ was originally named for Paul McCartney, but the singer/songwriter instead requested that it be named in honor of his entire family, whose favorite flower is the rose. These roses have frequently decorated the McCartney home and celebrations. This tribute, intended as a gift to the Estate of Linda McCartney, was written on the day of her untimely death in 1998. The home studio demo available here was recorded shortly thereafter. Original intentions were to release a production more worthy of Linda’s life and legacy, and perhaps at some future date, that will be possible.
