Saudi Arabia and Iran New Sanctions on Israel

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi praised the Palestinian group Hamas for its battle against Israel on Saturday and encouraged Islamic countries to impose sanctions on Israel.
Welcome everyone, in today’s video; we’re going to tell you Saudi Arabia and Iran New Sanctions on Israel
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler, assembled Arab and Muslim leaders in Riyadh to apply pressure on the United States and Israel to cease the violence in Gaza.
The crisis has also forced the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to engage in dialogue with Iran. As Riyadh strives to avert a regional uprising, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received his first phone call from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
Until the Iran-backed Hamas launched a devastating attack on Israel on October 7, both Israeli and Saudi leaders insisted they were gradually progressing toward a deal that could have altered the Middle East.
According to prior reports, Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam and home to its two holiest sites, would not abandon its pursuit of a US defence agreement even if Israel did not make significant concessions to the Palestinians in their quest for statehood.
Ignoring Palestinians, on the other hand, risks alienating Arabs throughout the region, as Arab TV stations broadcast photographs of Palestinians killed in Israeli retaliatory air strikes.
Hamas militants killed nearly 1,300 Israelis in their October 7 offensive, and Israel’s continued strikes on Gaza have killed over 1,952 Palestinians as of Friday.
The first source familiar with Riyadh’s views noted that talks could not be continued for the time being, and that when talks resumed, the matter of Israeli concessions for Palestinians would have to be a higher priority - a comment that suggests Riyadh has not abandoned the concept.
The Saudi rethink highlights Washington’s problems in extending Israel’s integration in a region where the Palestinian cause remains a key Arab focus.
Washington seeks to build on the Abraham Accords, which saw certain Gulf governments normalise relations, most notably the UAE.
During a briefing this week at the White House, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated that the normalisation effort was “not on hold,“ but that the focus was on other important concerns.
According to the first source familiar with Saudi thinking, Washington pressured Riyadh to condemn the Hamas attack this week, but Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan refused. A US source familiar with the matter verified this.
The regional tension has also prompted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to speak for the first time since the Gulf enemies re-established diplomatic ties in April according to a Chinese-brokered deal.
The crown prince reminded Raisi, according to a Saudi statement, that “the kingdom is making every effort to engage with all international and regional parties to halt the current escalation,“ emphasising Riyadh’s attempts to calm the problem.
According to a senior Iranian official, Raisi’s request to the crown prince was made to assist “Palestine and prevent the development of conflict in the region.“
“It was a pleasant and promising call,“ stated the official.
The call lasted 45 minutes, according to a second Iranian official, and was allowed by Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei.
The Saudi government did not elaborate on the meeting, but said in a statement that the crown prince emphasised the kingdom’s “opposition to any sort of civilian targeting and the loss of innocent lives,“ as well as Riyadh’s “unwavering commitment in supporting the Palestinian cause.“
