Nature Boy - Rob Franken & Toots Thielemans

On December 7, 2018 piano player Rob Franken was passed away exactly 35 years. At Rob Franken’s funeral in 1983, his long time friend Jean ’Toots’ Thielemans played one of Franken’s favourite pieces: Nature Boy. Solo of course. On November 2, 1982 – approximately one year before Franken’s sudden death - they recorded Nature Boy together in the MC studio in Nederhorst Den Berg. Featuring Peter Tiehuis on guitar, Theo de Jong on bass guitar and Bruno Castellucci on drums. As an hommage to Rob Franken I like to share this unique recording today.
