If you limit yourself to fuel you can find at any gas pump, and the air we live and breathe, and the four-strokes engines that most vehicles operate on, there are really three fundamental ways to increase the amount of power an engine produces.
- Displacement
- RPM
- Pressure (Forced Induction/Boost)
Arguably, there are many, many ways you can alter how much power an engine makes, but ultimately, it’s a matter of getting as much air as possible, and combining it with the right amount of fuel, and these are the big ways to make that happen. So the key metric we’re looking at: how much air do we have to work with? In this video we’ll look at each of the three methods, the advantages and disadvantages, as well as examples of engines that use each method to their advant
