Evinrude 9.5 hp Sportwin Boat Test

Lake test of my 1967 Evinrude 9.5 hp Sportwin outboard. The boat was a 1436 flat bottom with my dad and myself (~160 lbs each), and loaded with the motor (60 lbs), 5 gallons of gas, and a 15 hp Evinrude outboard (80 lbs) that we were also testing and didn’t want to leave in the bed of my truck at the ramp. With the cowl removed it ran about 15 mph, occasionally hitting 16 mph, and was turning 4600-4800 rpms at that speed per my inductive tach. When the cowl was replaced it was doing only 13-14 mph and turning about 1000 less rpms. Leaning the low speed mixture screw all the way in made it run the best so I am thinking that I have an exhaust leak. Recorded using Vidometer App for iPhone Recorded using Vidometer App for iPhone
